A Love Letter to Cacao
Cacao is a love letter from the earth. Each bean carries the care of those who tend it and the wisdom of the soil it grows in. Every cup is an invitation to soften, reconnect, and remember that you are part of something larger.
A Commitment to Ethical Cacao
At Seed of Love, our mission goes beyond cacao. It’s about connection, care, and respect for both people and the land. Through our partnership with Cacao Source, every bean is traceable to small-scale Mayan farming communities across three regions of Guatemala: Suchitepequez on the Pacific front, Alta Verapaz in the central north, and Izabal on the Caribbean front. In these regions, rare strains of cacao are grown within biodiverse food-forest ecosystems and tended with generations of ancestral knowledge.
Each farm supports organic growing practices, fair and empowering wages, and long-term care for the land. Women’s collectives and traditional farming methods are supported at every step, ensuring each harvest reflects dedication, care, and respect. Every batch of ceremonial cacao is kept separate by origin, preserving the distinct aroma and flavor of each region while honoring the farmers and communities who cultivate it.

What you'll need to prepare
- 25–40 g chopped cacao (we love 25 g for a heart-opening dose)
- 1 cup hot water (not boiling — cacao is sensitive to heat)
- Pinch of salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Optional -1 tsp tahini
- 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- Tiny pinch of cayenne
Why:
-Cinnamon warms and energizes.
-Tahini helps emulsify and absorb nutrients.
-Salt grounds and balances flavor.
-Cayenne amplifies cacao’s natural energy.
How to prepare your cup of love
- Chop your cacao. You can pre-chop and store it airtight, or chop it fresh each time — infusing it with gratitude and intention.
- Heat your water gently, never to a boil, to preserve cacao’s delicate compounds.
- Blend all ingredients with blender or hand held immersion blender until smooth and frothy — this allows the natural fats to fully merge with the cacao.
- Pour into your favorite cup. Notice the unique bubbles, texture, and iridescence that form.
Create Your Ceremony
There’s no single way to commune with cacao.
You can:
- Offer gratitude for the day
- Ask your heart a question
- Move, sing, or meditate
- Simply sit in presence
- Do anything you want its your ceremony.
We love to light a candle at the beginning and blow it out at the end — a simple way to open and close your ceremony with intention.
However you choose to prepare your cacao, may each sip bring you closer to your heart.
Our cacao story
In 2024, I traveled to Guatemala at the beginning of a new chapter in my life. The trip was sparked by a dream—a quiet nudge I felt called to follow. I went with the intention of deepening my relationship with cacao, not realizing I was heading to the birthplace of cacao ceremony itself.
Seed of Love began soon after, from the little camper van I was living in while rerooting my life. What started as a personal love for cacao became something much bigger: a path of service, connection, and devotion. Cacao has quietly guided me back to myself, and sharing her felt like the natural next step.
I pour my creative energy into this project every day, and I didn’t realize at the start what a powerful outlet it would be. My sister helped bring the packaging to life, I crafted the brand by hand, and I began serving cacao at festivals straight from the van. Through door deliveries, face-to-face connections, and conversations with people across the community, a web of heart-led connection began to form—one genuine exchange at a time.
My intention has always been simple: to share the medicine that changed my life, to build community rooted in warmth and authenticity, and to remind people that cacao is for everyone, no matter where they are on their path. Today, growing Seed of Love from my new home on the Sunshine Coast of BC, I continue to follow that devotion—crafting offerings that open the heart, spark connection, and weave us back into the beauty of being human, together.
With love & cacao,
Jess
