Las Marias is our origin story—the divine invitation that allowed love to light our way. This farm is the initial heartbeat that expanded our relationship with cacao, and everything she embodies, into something much bigger.
In Kampura, “love” is an action. It is expressed through care for the land, the ecosystem, and the surrounding community.
Cacao grows within a biodiverse landscape, alongside cardamom, cinnamon, copal, palo blanco, all-spice, banana, and more—creating a living system where each element supports the next.
During harvest, a crew of 20 women carefully tend to the cacao, opening each pod by hand with practiced skill and care. Their work is essential to the process and is supported through fair wages and community-centered practices.
Las Marias has been recognized by Guatemala’s National Forest Institute as Best Agroforestry Plantation and received a Bronze award from the Cacao of Excellence program in 2023.
