ENTRE NUBES

Cradled Amongst Clouds, in the Arms of the Ancestors

Entre Nubes, meaning “Between the Clouds,” is just as dreamy as the name suggests.

Grown high in the misty mountains of Alta Verapaz, Guatemala—almost as if suspended above the clouds—this cacao comes from a region where forest and sky meet. Abundant rainfall, rich soil, and a tropical mid-mountain climate create the conditions for a cacao that is both complex and deeply expressive.

This cacao is cultivated by Q’eqchi’ and Poqomchi’ Maya communities, whose relationship with the land spans generations. Their approach is rooted in respect, balance, and a deep understanding of the natural world—where farming is not separate from life, but a continuation of it.

Entre Nubes is part of a farmer-led cooperative network supporting more than 30,000 smallholder farmers across 42 cooperatives. Through this collective, farmers have access to healthcare, education, and ongoing support—while maintaining autonomy over their land and decisions. This model strengthens both community wellbeing and the integrity of the cacao itself.

The cacao is a rare “Acriollado” variety—a local blend of Criollo and Trinitario—known for its fruit-forward, aromatic profile and ancestral genetic lineage. Grown within biodiverse agroforestry systems alongside native trees, fruits, and spices, each harvest contributes to the regeneration of the land it comes from.

This is cacao that carries more than flavour.
It carries place, people, and story.
